An Education In Paint Correction  Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why do I have to correct my paintwork before protecting it?

Protecting paintwork can be a costly investment, depending on how MUCH protection and gloss you want to harness from our ceramic coatings here at Nuts Detailing. If your ride has spider webbing, holograms, or other surface defects that could easily be eradicated by professional paint correction, why highlight them with a sharp, sleek ceramic coating? Get them taken care of first!

  • Are surface scratches really only in my clear coat?

The ones that can be corrected by our paint restoration team are constrained to your vehicle’s clear coat. These include, but are not limited to, paint stains from contamination, swirl marks developed after abrasive washing and drying techniques, light surface scratches from belt buckles or shopping carts, and even etching caused by the minerals in beads of acid rain.

  • Should I avoid public car washes after getting my paint corrected?

Much of the equipment in a public car wash is unforgiving on vehicle clear coats, causing most of the light scratches and swirl marks that we buff and polish out during auto paint correction. Public car washes should be avoided at all costs no matter if you’ve had your paint corrected before or just bought a brand new vehicle.

  • What does auto paint correction NOT correct?

Paint defects that are minor and constrained to your vehicle’s clear coat are what can be remedied by our paint correction team here at Nuts Detailing. If your vehicle has sustained critical damage that breaks through the clear coat, damaging the actual paintwork, you will need to visit an auto body shop and have that panel repainted.
